Singapore Lottery

Lottery Singapore

The Singapore Lottery is the most popular form of gambling in the country. It was first introduced in 1968 to combat illegal betting. However, it is important to note that the odds of winning are not very good. In fact, the probability of winning is just 1 in 6 million.

To win a prize, players need to pick six digits from a range of 1 to 49. A lottery ticket can be purchased from Singapore Pools, which is the only legal lottery operator in the country.

The lottery is administered by the Tote Board, which is a statutory body. It governs horse racing, sports, lottery and sweepstakes in Singapore.

The Tote Board released the results of the last financial year, March 2014. The figures show that there was a 43% improvement in the amount of money bet on lotteries and sports.

In the previous year, $6.6 billion was spent on lottery and sports. This was the largest wager in the past decade.

During the month of April, Toto ranked second as the most popular game. According to the National Council on Problem Gambling survey, a fourth of the permanent residents in Singapore bet on gambling activities.

Since 2016, Toto has been available online. With the release of charts, it has become easier to analyse and understand the patterns of past results.

Aside from Toto, Singapore also offers a lottery game called 4-D. Also referred to as the “4D Digits” lottery, the game allows players to select four digits from 0000 to 9999.
